CLOSING THE LOOP ON
BATTERIES LIFE
REBORN transforms the energy storage by developing modular battery systems that enable re-use and repurposing, driving the shift towards a circular economy.
MISSION
We seek to develop cutting-edge, modular battery systems that recycle and reuse to support a circular economy
REBORN aims to build a sustainable, scalable value chain for second-life lithium-ion batteries by converting end-of-life packs into safe, modular systems for reuse in sectors like logistics, agriculture, and energy storage. The project supports EU goals on circularity, resource security, and energy resilience through innovation and real-world validation.
TECHNOLOGY
We are developing smart, modular battery systems that are safe, interoperable, and scalable for diverse second-life applications across Europe
REBORN develops modular battery packs and integrates advanced battery management systems (BMS) for safe, efficient, and adaptable second-life applications. The modularity allows easy reconfiguration across multiple use cases, while the smart BMS enables real-time monitoring, predictive control, and compliance with EU safety standards. These technologies will be tested in five European pilot sites to ensure scalability and market readiness.
SUSTAINABILITY
We focus on creating more durable battery system technologies that help reduce waste and lower carbon emissions
